چکیده

Abstract. Fluxgate magnetometers are widely used for in situ magnetic field measurements the context of geophysical and solar system studies. Like most experimental studies, using fluxgate constrained by associated uncertainties. To evaluate performance magnetometers, measurement uncertainties calibrated data quantitatively studied a spinning spacecraft. The derived analytically perturbing calibration parameters simplified into first-order expression including offset errors coupling parameter with ambient field. error study shows how uncertainty sources combine through process. final depends on (1) magnitude respect to (2) angle spacecraft spin axis. major factor low-field environment, while (rotation plane, sensor non-orthogonality, misalignment reference directions) become more important high-field environment proportional way formulas serve as useful tool designing high-precision future missions well analysis methods science.

Digital fluxgate magnetometer for the Astrid-2 satellite

The design and performance of the Astrid-2 magnetometer are described. The magnetometer uses mathematical routines, implemented by software for commercially available digital signal processors, to determine the magnetic field from the fluxgate sensor. The sensor is from the latest generation of amorphous metal sensors developed by the Department of Automation at the Technical University of Denm...

A 3-Axis Miniature Magnetic Sensor Based on a Planar Fluxgate Magnetometer with an Orthogonal Fluxguide

A new class of tri-axial miniature magnetometer consisting of a planar fluxgate structure with an orthogonal ferromagnetic fluxguide centrally situated over the magnetic cores is presented. The magnetic sensor possesses a cruciform ferromagnetic core placed diagonally upon the square excitation coil under which two pairs of pick-up coils for in-plane field detection are allocated. Effective pri...

Kalman Filter for Spinning Spacecraft Attitude Estimation

This paper presents a Kalman filter using a seven-component attitude state vector comprising the angular momentum components in a n inertial reference frame, the angular momentum components in the body frame, and a rotation angle. The relatively slow variation of these parameters makes this parameterization advantageous for spinning spacecraft attitude estimation. The filter accounts for the co...
